Reaper’s Gale: The Malazan Book of the Fallen 7

‘The most significant work of epic fantasy since Donaldson’s Chronicles of Thomas Covenant’ SF SITE

In this, the seventh chapter in Steven Erikson’s monumental The Malazan Book of the Fallen, there will be a reckoning, and it will be on an unimaginable scale . . .

The Letherii Empire is in turmoil . . .

As Rhulad Sengar, Emperor of a Thousand Deaths, spirals into madness, the far-seeing god, the Errant, is suddenly blind to the future. And those self-serving courtiers who claim the emperor’s ear seem intent on waging all-out war against the empire’s neighbours.

And there is the matter of the Tiste Edur fleet that draws ever closer. Amongst its number are Karsa Orlong and Icarium Lifestealer, and their presence alone means that blood will be spilled.

But a small band of fugitives seeks a way out. One of their company, Fear Sengar, hunts the soul of Scabandari Bloodeye. With his help, they might halt the Edur and save his brother, the Emperor.

However, Silchas Ruin, brother of Anomander Rake, also travels with them. The scars he carries were made by the blades of Scabandari – and he wants revenge . . .
